Zatoichi meets up with one of the most famous characters from the Hong Kong cinema.

While traveling through the country side Zatoichi is again attacked by pursuers, and he again dispenses of them quickly.

A young Chinese couple with a young son meet Wong Kang, the one-armed swordsman. When the boy's kite gets in the way of a  procession, samurais attack the family and Wong Kang protects them.

The samurai strike down local villagers for revenge. Zatoichi finds the dying Chinese father, the dead mother and then takes the son with him.

The samurai are still pursuing Wong Kang and corner him in a hut. They send some men in but they stumble out dead. They set his hut on fire and he escapes with his leaping ability and short sword. Wong then takes the boy from Zatoichi.

They meet up again and Zatoichi says he will lead them to the temple Wang is headed to.

The local yakuza kill the people who let Wong stay with them, and their daughter wants revenge. She thinks Zatoichi may have betrayed them, because he is a yakuza too. Wong begins to suspect Zatoichi too.

The yakuza steal the boy and tell Wong Kang to come to a particular place if he wants him back. Zatoichi finds out and goes and gets the boy.

Zatoichi and Wong both square off against a slew of the samurai's and yakuza's men.

Finally Wong and Zatoichi square off. Wong still thinks Zatoichi betrayed him. Wong slashes Zatoichi, but in the end Zatoichi kills Wong.

Not as good as it could have been. plot was just Ok, and there wasn't much character development for Zatoichi.
